Natural Remedies to Prevent Hair Graying:

With the rising level of stress and pollution, there is no wonder if your hair starts turning gray much before your age. But, then nobody wants gray hair and premature graying of hair is what you hate the most. What then is the solution? Well! With the help of certain natural remedies you can prevent premature graying that hampers your great looks. But, let us have a look at the cause of this problem.

What Causes Gray Hair?

As you grow old, the process of melanin production by your body slows down. Melanocytes which are found in the follicles of the hair – scalp causes pigmentation. But as you begin to age, these melanocytes produces melanin in lesser amount. However, if your hair are turning gray in twenties or thirties then it could be stress, bad habits (smoking, tea or coffee or consumption of junk food), deficiency of certain vitamins and early menopause.

Natural Remedies To Check Hair Graying:

  • Increase the intake of protein and Vitamin B12 in your diet. Increase the consumption of meat, eggs, whole grains and cereals.
  • Prepare a blend of fenugreek seeds (Methi), henna powder and yoghurt. Adding coffee and basil/mint leave juice in this blend will increase its effectiveness. Applying this paste on your hair for a couple of hours and washing thoroughly with an herbal shampoo after drying will help a lot.
  • Stress is the major reason of gray hair. Cut down on stress by practicing yoga and meditation. Take an adequate amount of sleep (at least 8 hours). Go for a morning and night stroll. This will help alleviate your stress.
  • If other remedies are not working, get hold of butter made up of cow’s milk and appy it into your hair roots. Melt the butter before usage. Try doing this 2-3 times a week to get amazing results.
  • Make a blend of honey and grated ginger. Apply a tablespoonful of this mixture into your hair scalp every day. This will prevent hair graying.
  • Indian gooseberry (amla) is an effective remedy. Mix amla powder with reetha (soapnuts) and shikhakai (acacia) and coffee powder. Apply this blend on your hair scalp for a couple of hours and rinse thoroughly.
  • Coconut oil is also known for preventing hair graying. Apply warm coconut oil (so that it can be absorbed easily) into your hair-scalp overnight and wash your hair in the morning.
  • Combing your hair more often will help circulate blood to your hair roots. So, make it a habit to comb your hair frequently.
